Ever need a friend?

Wow... where do I begin? Let's try with wisdom...

"I am certainly not an advocate for frequent and untried changes in laws and constitutions. I think moderate imperfections had better be borne with; because, when once known, we accommodate ourselves to them, and find practical means of correcting their ill effects. But I know also, that laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the same coat which fitted him when a boy, as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors." Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, July 12, 1810 (http://www.seekfind.net/ThomasJefferson.html)

Does this make sense to you? It does to me...

My son is smart, good looking, funny, creative and strong. He's brave, hopeful for a future, and a never ending fountain of energy. He looks for the best in everything but knows that often times in our world today it's the negative that is outlined in everything we do.

Our society complains constantly about what it doesn't have, what it's lacking, what it thinks is required for our lives to be 'complete'. We have a government that is trying to 'please all the people all the time' and they spend so much time trying to do that, they don't have time to do what they were actually appointed to do by the very people who cry constantly like insatiable infants. Of course our Government of the US cannot satisfy everyone; but this was not their charge in the beginning. Perhaps another history lesson for all concerned is in order.

With all of this going on, I realize that we've all long since forgotten about the barter system, and helping others who are in need of genuine help. Why is it always "Uncle Sam" that must come to the aid of those in need while those 'commoners' around the needy sit back in their chairs with their wallets and bellies full, doing nothing?

There are so many who are in need of help today; children, families, young adults and the elderly. There's public and private schools failing all around us. It's not just financial failures. It's also educational failures to the very people who fill these buildings with the reasons why the building is even there. There are children incarcerated right now in SC (70% of all juveniles currently incarcerated) who suffer from what this blog is all about; Aspergers Syndrome.

Where are the helpers for the kids? Is it really easier to cage what we don't understand? Limit what we don't consider useful in our advanced societies?

Ignorance is not bliss and I will continue to prove this for the rest of my life. I will show over the next days, weeks, months and years about how truly backwards in thinking our society in the US has truly become. I'll show you where other countries have picked up the ball and began to run it with all they have to ensure children are not abused, mislabeled, mishandled and left behind.

Watch and see...

Here's my first of many shares with you that I believe needs to be seen.

What if this were my son? What if it were yours?
